Chapter 19& 20 of The kite runner

We were assigned to read chapters 19 and 20. These chapters really held my attention and I was so into it. Chapter 19 introduces us to a man named Farid. Farid was arranged by Rahim Khan to drive Amir to Kabul. From what I’ve read, Farid didn’t really like Amir based on where he has came from. Amir grew up in a wealthy household unlike Farid. Farid questioned Amir on his motives to coming back to Kabul. He thought he only wanted to come back to sell land and receive money. Amir was welcomed into Farid’s brother home. Amir got a chance to see how their life was towards the end of this chapter and stuffed money under a mattress to help out. Chapter 20 was my favorite. In this chapter , Amir gets to see how life in Kabul was now. There’s lots of beggars now in Kabul due to the Talibans taking over. Amir and Farid stumbled across an old beggar who knew Amir’s mother. Although he didn’t learn as much from the man, he did learn more than what Baba would usually tell him. When they went to the orphanage , they found out the owner was using the children. He would exchange the children over to a Taliban for money.
